FAQ

FAQ

Is my patient data safe?

Yes. Omi Scribe processes everything locally on your Mac. No audio, transcripts, or notes are sent to our servers or third parties. Session data is encrypted at rest (AES‑256‑GCM). You can enable biometric lock via Touch ID/Face ID.

Does this comply with HIPAA/GDPR?

Omi Scribe is privacy‑first: all processing is on‑device and we don’t receive your content. You remain responsible for your overall compliance (policies, exports, device security). See our Privacy Policy for details and contact [email protected] with specific questions.

Will you support note types beyond SOAP?

Yes—coming next: H&P, progress notes, discharge summaries, and more. Tell us what you need at [email protected] and we’ll prioritize.

Which languages are supported?

Omi Scribe currently supports English with regional models tuned for major accents and locales: United States (en-US, default), United Kingdom (en-GB), Canada (en-CA), Australia (en-AU), India (en-IN), Ireland (en-IE), New Zealand (en-NZ), and South Africa (en-ZA). We’re actively working on adding more languages next. If your preferred language isn’t listed, email [email protected] — your feedback directly helps shape our roadmap.

What about iOS, Windows, or Android?

Roadmap: macOS (current beta) → iOS (next) → then Windows or Android based on demand. Prefer one? Let us know at [email protected].

What will pricing look like?

We’re considering a free tier (limited monthly use) and a pro tier (unlimited + pro features). Beta testers get early‑adopter benefits. Join the waitlist to stay informed.

How accurate is the AI?

Omi Scribe is built and tuned for medical conversations, but like any AI it can sometimes be inaccurate or omit details (“hallucinations”). It’s a documentation assistant, not a diagnostic tool — you should always review and verify notes before using them in clinical records. Our model has been internally evaluated against leading systems to minimize errors and omissions, showing strong performance in both safety and completeness. More details about our evaluation are shared in the next question.

How did you evaluate hallucinations and omissions?

Our in-house Scribe model was benchmarked against GPT-5 using a multi-LLM-as-a-Judge evaluation pipeline. The results show that our safety-first metrics deliver ≈ 3 × fewer hallucinations while maintaining a slight edge in clinical completeness and comprehension. In short: more reliable summaries, fewer fabrications, and no trade-off in coverage. We continue to refine these metrics with every update.

Can I try it now?
